Michael S. Alfred is a partner with VerisLaw and Of Counsel with Vickers Kempf, PLLC.

Michael S. Alfred attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in history with a minor in business before receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1995.  He obtained his Juris Doctor at the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 2000, and while there, was awarded the Order of the Coif and served on the Journal of Air Law and Commerce. Mr. Alfred spent a year as a clerk for a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas before entering private practice. Mr. Alfred is admitted to practice in Texas as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

Michael is highly respected for his counsel in health care and business, having handled a wide variety of matters both in court and in arbitration proceedings. His cases have included noncompete agreements, disputes among shareholders and partners, contract breaches, surety bonds, construction contracts and disputes, condemnation proceedings, intellectual property infringement and the misappropriation of trade secrets. Mr. Alfred has also represented health care facilities and practitioners in many types of cases, including appearing on behalf of doctors before the state agency that regulates physicians.

Michal Alfred’s excellent track record has led to a number of awards, including his receipt of a BV Distinguished peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and his election to membership in the Texas Bar Foundation.

Michael’s focus is primarily complex business and commercial litigation, providing representation to people and businesses throughout the state of Texas.  His practice also encompasses civil litigation for both plaintiff and defense, construction litigation, and health care.
